"Biz Kimiz?"
isimli sergide Gazi Sansoy'un "Yüzsüzler"
ve "Minyatürler"
serilerinin son dönem tuval üzeri yağlıboya çalışmaları sergilenecektir. Gazi
Sansoy'un "Biz Kimiz?"
isimli solo sergisinde kurguladığı; Levni dönemi Osmanlı toplumunun insan
tipleri, mimarisi, gemileri ve nesneleri ile birlikte, 16-19. Yüzyıl Batı
Avrupalı ünlü ressamların tablolarından dekupe edilmiş süvariler ve
piyadelerdir.
Sansoy "Minyatür"
serisi resimlerinde kürk için öldürülen hayvanlar, boğa güreşleri, Filistin
halkına özgürlük veya adaletsizlik gibi insan veya hayvan hakları konularında
dolaylı dolaysız politik mesajlar veriyor.
"Yüzsüzler"
serisi resimlerinde ise Rönesans dönemi resimlerini sadece vücutları yok edip
pop renklerle boyayarak klasik ve çağdaş renk ve kompozisyon zıtlığını
oluşturuyor. Sansoy İsa, Meryem, havariler ve mitolojik imgelerin tamamen o
dönem koşullarıyla sanatçılar tarafından resmedildiğini ( ya da
resmettirildiğini ), aslında her birinin o resmi yapan sanatçının yani insanın
düş gücü olduğunu dolayısıyla aslında o imgelerin gerçek olmadığını ve zaten
olamayacağını böylelikle de aslında tamda "Yüzsüzler"
adını hak edecek resimler olabileceğini düşünüyor.

Gazi Sansoy's latest oil on canvas works from
"Faceless" and "Miniature" series will be shown at the
show. What is constructed at Sansoy's solo show "Who are We?" is the
types of people, architecture, vessels, and objects of the Ottoman society at
Levni's time together with the cavalry and infantry, and other types of people
that have been cut out of the paintings by the renowned West European painters
of the 16th-19th centuries.
Gazi Sansoy uses slogans in his "Miniature" series
paintings in relation to the animals killed for their fur, bull fighting,
freedom for the people of Palestine or injustice.. Therefore, he gives direct
or indirect political messages on topics like human and animal rights in his
paintings.
His "Faceless" series are the works that
emphasize, by painting in "pop" colors, pieces of human body that are
not covered and removing only the flesh in the in Renaissance paintings.
According to Sansoy the images of Jesus, Mary, the apostles and mythological
images had been depicted by the artists completely under the circumstances in
that era (or made them to depict), that each one had actually been the
imagination of the artist, namely the person, that made that painting and,
therefore, those images had in fact not been and could not have anyway been
real, and that they could thus be the paintings that would actually deserve the
very name of "Faceless".
