Mehmet Edip Ağaoğulları’nın özel koleksiyonunda eşsiz bir derlemeyle bir araya
getirdiği posta pulları ve kartpostallarla anlatılan Antik Yunan’dan günümüze
kadarki Olimpiyat Oyunlarının tarihini işliyor.
Sergi, 3 Aralık 2012’de Yunan Başkonsolosluğu’nun Beyoğlu,
İstiklal Caddesi,
No. 60 adresindeki Sismanoglio Megaro binasında açılacak ve
aynı gün PTT kuracağı bir standtta sergi anısına özel gün damgası kullanacaktır.
Hem filatelistler hem de olimpiyatlar ve tarihine ilgi
duyanlar için sergi,
23 Aralık 2012 tarihine kadar görülebilir.

FROM OLYMPIA TO OLYMPICS
A philatelic history of Olympic Games from Ancient Greece to
the present
Why, where and when did the first Olympic Games take place?
What did they mean to the ancient world? What was Olympic Truce? How and where
did they revive the games in 1896? And how did they grow from a modest event
with just 241 male athletes in 1896 to the most prestigious sports event of our
times, with more than 10.000 athletes competing in London in 2012?
This is the history of the Olympic Games from ancient Greece
to the present narrated by a unique collection of post stamps and postcards
from all over the world from the private collection of an award-winning Turkish
philatelist, Mehmet Edip Ağaoğulları.
The exhibition will open on December 3, 2012 at Sismanoglio
Megaro of the Greek Consulate General of Istanbul, İstiklal Caddesi, No. 60 in Beyoğlu and the
PTT will be operating a stand on that day for the commemorative cancellation of
stamps. For both the philatelists and enthusiasts of the Olympic games, and for
the general public, the exhibition can be viewed until December 23, 2012.
